Virginia senior forward Meghan Lenczyk has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the third time this season after leading the eighth-ranked Cavaliers to a pair of league wins over fellow ranked teams.
Lenczyk scored three goals in victories over Duke (ranked 23rd by The Soccer Times) and Wake Forest (ranked 19th). The McLean, Va., native scored twice in the final nine minutes of last Thursday night's match vs. Duke, snapping a scoreless tie and allowing the Cavaliers to claim a 2-0 win. Lenczyk came back on Sunday to score Virginia's first goal in a 2-1 win over Wake Forest.
Lenczyk has scored a career-high 12 goals this season and leads the ACC with six game-winning goals. With 36 career goals, she is now tied for third on Virginia's all-time list.
The No. 7 Cavaliers will head down to Tallahassee to face the No. 10 Florida State Seminoles on Thursday night.
