Virginia Women off to shaky ACC start

The Virginia women's basketball team started the season with one of the toughest schedules in the country, with five of six straight opponents being ranked teams, including three in the top ten, and all on the road. After rattling off a few more out of conference wins and capturing the Cavalier Classic title once again, the Cavaliers are off to a rough start to the ACC, falling to Miami 82-73 on Thursday and No. 19 Florida State tonight, 61-51.

With the loss, Virginia falls to 10-7 on the season, 0-2 in the ACC. Four of those seven losses come against ranked opponents.

The Cavaliers are just at the beginning of their tough schedule. Virginia travels to Atlanta to face Georgia Tech, a team that's rattled off 11 straight wins after dropping one to then-No. 4 Tennessee. After hosting Pennsylvania right after, the Hoos will have only ACC teams going forward.
