ESPN Reporting New Five-Year Contract for Mike London

According to sources at ESPN, Virginia head coach Mike London has agreed to a new five-year contract.

The source says that the $225,000 that London had pledged earlier this month to building a new indoor practice facility at Virginia is a part of this new deal. When asked to comment at today's joint coaches teleconference at the Chick-fil-A Bowl, London declined to discuss any details.

Coach London is the 2011 ACC Coach of the Year, taking last year's 4-8 (1-7 ACC) team and turning it around to a 8-4 (5-3 ACC) squad. This season has been highlighted so far by a drudging of then-undefeated No. 12 Georgia Tech, as well as pulling out wins over Florida State and Miami, becoming the first team ever to beat both the Seminoles and Canes on the road in the same season. It was also Miami's first-ever Thursday night home loss.

As you know, Virginia will be taking on the reigning national champion Auburn Tigers tomorrow night in the Chick-fil-A Bowl in Atlanta.
