The Virginia men's tennis team, ranked #1 in the country, opened the outdoor season in style by beating LSU 5-2, in Baton Rouge. With the victory, Virginia improved to a perfect 15-0.
As usual, the Cavaliers victory was keyed by superb play from the top three singles seeds, all of whom are individually ranked in the top twenty nationally. UVa's top seed, Michael Shabaz, scored an easy 6-3, 6-2 win over LSU's Neal Skupski. Virginia's Alex Domijan (ranked #2 nationally) and Sanam Singh also secured straight set victories. Sixth seed Justin Shane also collected a singles win, and Virginia swept the doubles play to round out the scoring.
Complete results are below the fold. Next up for Virginia: a trip to Waco, TX, on Saturday to face #28 Baylor.
