May 9th Rotunda Roundup

Stay connected for news and updates

The men's and women's lacrosse teams both were pegged for the NCAA tournament last night.  The Richmond Times Dispatch discusses the men's team's new role as an underdog.  Around the ACC, Maryland and North Carolina were matched up in the first round, an oddity explained in the Washington Post blog.

Some news has emerged on the status of Rhamel Bratton, who is suspended indefinitely for violations of team rules that also resulted in brother Shamel's dismissal.  Whitey Reid reports that Rhamel will rejoin the team for this weekend's first round matchup with Bucknell but will not be active.

Not much action otherwise, as all UVA sports will be out of action until the end of exams on Friday.  While you wait, the Daily Progress has a piece on the baseball team's success thus far.  ESPN also has a great story on UVA athlete Michael Shabaz, one of the top singles and doubles tennis players in the nation.
