The recent release of the final 2011-2012 Directors Cup standings had me wondering... was this really as successful of a year as a lot of my Cavalier friends seem to think it was?
Now, I'll readily admit that I'm biased towards the Olympic Sports. Lacrosse, Baseball, Tennis... I could watch those all day any day just like Football and Basketball. So seeing us get fewer points in those sports (except for Tennis, which notched the same points in the same heart-breaking fashion) was disappointing.
Then again, going to the Chick-Fil-A bowl and getting to watch us in March Madness again was a ton of fun (you know, minus the whole losing part). I'm conflicted.
So I thought: What better way to see what folks think than to take a poll! Vote in the poll and leave us a comment to let us know why you voted the way you did.
I'll leave the post up through Monday at noon and I'll be back to discuss the results (and give my more thorough opinion) on Tuesday.
Poll
Do you personally consider Virginia's 2011-2012 Academic Season to be a win or a loss?
Win - football and basketball are on the rise! (71 votes)
Win - even though we were down in a lot of sports, it was still successful (53 votes)
Loss - A bowl loss, a first round NCAA loss and a drop in Director's Cup rankings (15 votes)
Loss - being out of the top 10 in the Director's Cup is all that matters (5 votes)
144 total votes
