After recovering from an ugly loss in Tennessee to blast Florida State on the road 62-50, the Hoos return to Charlottesville for their ACC home opener against Wake Forest. This will be UVA's first home game since 12/23.
After a third straight losing season in Winston-Salem, Jeff Bzdelik has his squad off to a solid start this year, posting a 10-3 out-of-conference mark before upsetting North Carolina this past weekend.
However, Wake Forest has been much stronger at home under Bzdelik's tenure, going 11-15 in ACC home games, but 1-24 on the road (their last road win against any opponent ranked better than 150 by KenPom was the "Snow Game" in Charlottesville, when Wake Forest prevailed in overtime on 2/6/2010).
Wahoo fans are eagerly awaiting news on Joe Harris's status after he left Saturday's game with a concussion - we'll update as soon as we hear anything, but don't expect any news until close to tip-off.
Obviously, positive news on Harris will provide a huge boost. Regardless, UVA should win the game if it plays with the intensity and toughness on display in Tallahassee. Making free-throws this time would be an added bonus as well.
The matchup will be televised on RSN - click here to see whether you have an affiliate airing the game. It will also be shown on ESPN3, but that is subject to blackout.
Leave your pre-, in-, and post-game thoughts here and as always, Go HOOS!
UPDATE: Joe Harris is warming up and looks ready to play. If Whitey Reid is correct, not only will Harris play tonight, but the concussion has knocked him out of any remaining shooting slump:
If warmups are indicative of how Harris will play tonight, I expect a big game. Haven't seen him miss one shot.
