4X16 Conferences

I’m trying not to be an ACC homer here, but looking at football realignment got me to looking at whether the ACC or the Big 12 would be the one to die. Let’s face it the midwest does not have the quantity of schools that the east have so I think it would be the Big 12 that would die. Also if one dies ALL must get bigger which means that the PAC MUST look eastward. With that said here is a possible scenario of where the Big 12 schools could end.

The ACC would achieve the 16 schools by bringing in ND all-in and Texas, talk on blogs to this effect. The Big 10 would get Iowa State and Kansas, both of which are AAU members. The PAC would need to take 4 schools, Baylor, Kansas State, TCU, Oklahoma. This would allow 4 pods of 4 and the Pacific coast schools to go east into Texas and Oklahoma every couple years for recruits.

This brings me to the SEC, I saved this for last because school 1 would be Oklahoma State, gets into Oklahoma…but. Who would be the other? Texas Tech, West Virginia, or Cincy? Would they want another Texas school? WVU with good football and basketball creds? Or Cincy, this opens up the state of Ohio for recruiting. What is your take on this.
