Following yesterday’s confirmation of the 2020 Kickoff Classic versus UGA, Virginia Football announced today a future home-and-home series against another out of conference P5 opponent. The Hoos will face former-conference rival Maryland in 2023 and 2024.

The series will renew one of the more heated rivalries in UVa sports, as the Hoos and Terps squared off as ACC opponents for decades - before Maryland decided that losing in colder weather was a more attractive option for their teams.
Unfortunately for the Hoos, with Mike London’s recent move to Howard University, it seems unlikely that they will get to face off against the former UVa coach. Of course, 2023 and 2024 are quite a ways away, so who knows what the teams and coaching staffs will look like by then.
Stay tuned to Streaking the Lawn in 6 years as we’ll attempt to educate the future UVa students as to why us old folks are grossed out by this game and the visiting fan base.
