After redshirting the 2016-17 season, Virginia redshirt freshman DeAndre Hunter will be looking to play a big role in the Virginia Cavaliers’ 2017-18 campaign.
A four-star recruit who chose Virginia over NC State, Notre Dame, Maryland and Miami, Hunter gives head coach Tony Bennett the option to go to a four-guard lineup, he told the Daily Progress in March.
“He’s long. He’s 6-7 and long. He can slash, he can step out and shoot the 3. He gives you diversity...He can score a little bit in the post.”
Here he is working with an outside athletic trainer Ken Jackson, showing off some of that diversity on the offensive end.
Hunter did travel with the team to Spain last summer, and was then the only player to play in all five games.
