Virginia’s Athletic Director, Craig Littlepage, announced on Friday that women’s tennis head coach, Mark Guilbeau, will be resigning after 12 seasons at UVa.
Guilbeau had a stellar 201-117 record as the head coach and lead UVa to back to back ACC Championships in 2014 and 2015. Guilbeau also lead the Cavaliers to 10 NCAA tournament appearances, reaching the NCAA Quarterfinals in 2014 and 2016.
The individual tennis players were highly successful under his leadership. The most successful being Danielle Collins, who won the NCAA singles title in 2014 and 2016, while being an NCAA All-American for three years.
As most will know, with Gilbeau leaving, both Cavalier tennis programs will be without a head coach as Head Coach Brian Boland announced he will leave the men’s program at the end of the year to take on a national role with USA Tennis.
#UVa now searching for 2 tennis coaches as women's coach Mark Guilbeau announced his resignation today, ending his 12 seasons at Virginia.
