The Virginia volleyball team opened its season on Friday afternoon defeating Valpraiso, 3-1 (24-26, 25-10, 25-14, 28-26), in the first game of the Temple Invitational.

Former Volleyball Assistant Coach Jill Kramer has left Virginia and has been named the new head coach of West Virginia's volleyball program, it was announced yesterady. She had coached for two years at Virginia (2008-2009) and was instrumental in the great strides Cavalier Volleyball has taken in the past couple years.

Virginia Volleyball snapped a six game losing skid tonight after crushing the Wolfpack 25-16, 25-21, 25-16 at Mem Gym.  This also put an end to an 0-4 ACC start, all four games of which were held on the road.  The Wolfpack, now 0-4 in the ACC, was coming off a 0-2 week.
