Virginia unveils new logo to close out the basketball season. Hat tip to TheSabre.com poster bradhoo and wherever he first saw it. And also hat tip to @WahooBasketball on Twitter for sharing. And hat tip to you for reading. And to me for writing.
After sadly watching the Packers choke, I found this to cheer me up.
Mostly because you can't really ever get enough of being on the front page of ESPN.
The Occupy [Place] movement seems to be picking up steam. Thank goodness, too, because it has created a mountain load of fantastic mockery. The latest comes from Occupy Herbstreit, which brings us this gem.
The Virginia men's lacrosse team had a scrimmage at Lynchburg College in front of a crowd of about 3,000 on Thursday night. Lynchburg put up a good fight against the defending national champions (although, to be fair, the most of the Hoos' starters were not dressed), but in the end, Virginia came out with the 13-9 win. Win or loss, it had to have been a good experience for the LC kids. Read more about the scrimmage and see more pictures from Lacrosse Playground.
User vmkstar99 has plenty of Photoshop skills, and he's put it to good use with this creation of a Ras-I Dowling NCAA Football 12 cover for the PS3. For those who don't remember, Dowling was the first pick in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft, heading to the New England Patriots.
This really doesn't have much to do with anything, except to prove that there really IS a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, and that pot of gold is the dome of the Rotunda at the University of Virginia. This picture was taken during the rainout of the game against VCU last week, courtesy of Virginia fan John Deal by way of VAF Associate Director Alex Inman. He calls it, "Omaha Omen."
There's some real photoshop talent out there. Today's tip of the hat goes to whoever made this awesome cover for NCAA Football 2012, featuring UVa's own Chase Minnifield. What other talent is out there?
