So maybe that loss against Duke wasn't so bad after all! Following his visit this weekend, Lawrenceville, GA defensive back Darious Latimore has committed to the Hoos, according to multiple outlets.
A 3* star prospect by both Rivals and 24/7, Lattimore held offers from Kansas State, Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. Latimore is the Hoos' 11th commit for the 2014 recruiting class and the second secondary player (Quin Blanding) added in this haul. At 6'0" and only 161 lbs, adding some weight to deal with the bigger wide receivers at the college level will be key. Latimore comes into a favorable situation in Charlottesville with a good portion of UVA's secondary graduating next year. He can learn the position from leaders like Demetrious Nicholson and spend a year in the weight room preparing physically.
This should complete recruiting efforts for the secondary in this recruiting cycle, unless, of course, a program-changing type of player wants to commit. Getting a commitment from Latimore over schools like Georgia Tech and Tennessee should make Virginia feel good. Tennessee just came off a big win over number 11 ranked South Carolina, and Georgia Tech seemed like a strong competitor for the local Lattimore, especially going against an out-of-state conference foe.
