Wrestling to Return to Action Saturday

Chris Henrich, courtesy UVa Media RelationsThe No. 18 Virginia Cavaliers return to the wrestling mat on the road this Saturday for a double-header against UNC-Greensboro at 11:00 a.m. and Appalachian State at 6:00 p.m. The Hoos are currently 7-1, with the sole loss coming to 10th ranked Central Michigan.

The UNC-Greensboro Spartans have only had one team scoring event this season, falling to Utah Valley. Their last competition was at the Cliff Keel Las Vegas Invitational, where they placed 22 of 42 on Day One and 26 of 42 on Day Two.

The Appalachian State Mountaineers are currently 1-5 and are on a three-match losing streak.

Both of these matchups should be easy for the Cavaliers to walk away from with a victory. The Hoos will be looking to junior Chris Henrich, ACC Wrestler of the Week as announced on December 1, who posted three wins in the 174-pound weight class -- including two against nationally-ranked opponents -- at the Northeast Duals in Troy, N.Y. He is currently ranked No. 4 by InterMat in the 174 pound class.

Sophomore Danny Gonsor is ranked 16th in the 157 lb. class, and senior Brent Jones is ranked 11th in the 197 class.
