No. 22 Virginia to face Boston College on the Road

Chelsea Shine, courtesy UVa Media RelationsThe 22nd-ranked Virginia women's basketball looks to build on their road success against Virginia Tech as they travel to face Boston College tonight at 7:00 p.m. Virginia has an all-time record of 6-1 against the Eagles, and Boston College has not won since 2006. The game will not be telvised, but you can catch all the action on WINA 1070 in Charlottesville.

Virginia (12-5, 1-2) is coming off a 70-56 win at Virginia Tech on Monday. ACC Preseason Player of the Year and AP Preseason All-American Monica Wright led the Cavaliers with 27 points, as she moved into the ACC's all-time top 10 scoring list.

Through 17 games, Wright has ten 20+ point games and three 30+ point games. She leads the team with 21.2 points per game and 7 rebounds per game. Her scoring average ranks 2nd in the ACC and 12th in the nation. With 4.0 steals per game, Wright leads the conference and is third in the country in that category.

Boston College (11-7, 2-1) is coming off a 77-51 win over Georgia Tech. They are led by Carolyn Swords, who averages 14.8 points per game and leads the ACC in rebounding with 10.4 per game. She also leads the nation in field goal percentage, shooting 66.9%.

BC leads the league in field goal percentage, free throw percentage, and rebounding defense.

The Cavaliers return home Sunday to face Georgia Tech on National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
