Questions arose this past Saturday when word arrived that Calvin Baker did not travel with the team to Winston Salem for the road game against Wake Forest. Virginia head coach Tony Bennett declined to comment post-game, stating only that it was a coach's decision. On Monday, Coach Bennett announced the status of the senior guard.
"Calvin practiced with us. We had practice this morning. As I mentioned in the press conference after the game, it was a coach's decision not to bring him to Wake. But he's back with us, and we're going to move forward."
Baker averages 16.4 minutes per game, during which time he he puts up 3.8 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. He shoots 35.6% from the floor and has played in 15 of 17 games this season.
"He will be fully participating this week and the game," Bennett reassured on Monday.
