Virginia Volleyball closed out its regular home season on a high note, sweeping Boston College 3-0 (25-17, 25-29, 25-15) on Saturday night. Seniors AJ Cushman, Sydney Hill and Kendahl Voelker were recognized on Senior Night for their contributions to the team. The win comes after being swept by Maryland 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-17) on Friday night. The Cavaliers are now 13-12 on the year and 7-8 in the ACC, and already have a better record than last year, when the 'Hoos finished 12-19 (7-13 ACC).
"I'm really proud of our fourth years and how they have represented our program," head coach Lee Maes said. "They've been outstanding examples of leadership through their ability to make others around them better and more productive. They've been consummate givers and wonderful role models to our underclassmen. I'm proud of them as student-athletes, and more so, as people."
The Cavaliers have a long 2-week stretch on the road coming up. Their record is not quite at post-season berth standards yet, but with five ACC contests to go, the dream is still alive.
Virginia faces Clemson and Georgia Tech this weekend. The Hoos will face the Tigers at Clemson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, and will face the Jackets in Atlanta at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
