Grovatt receives ACC Baseball Weekly Honors

Virginia outfielder Dan Grovatt has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week following his performance in winning last weekend's series against No. 5 Florida State that opened conference play.

Grovatt was Virginia's top hitter during a 3-1 week which included a series win at No. 2 Florida State – UVa's first-ever series win against the Seminoles.

Grovatt, a junior from Tabernacle, N.J., began his big week on Wednesday with a key single during UVa's four-run rally in a win over William and Mary, which had knocked off 11th-ranked North Carolina in Chapel Hill the previous day.

On Friday, Grovatt recorded his first career multiple-home run game and UVa's first multi-homer game since 2008 with a pair of home runs in the Cavaliers' 5-0 win at FSU. Grovatt also tied his career high in hits with a four-hit effort Friday. On Saturday, he earned the win on the mound and had a key single and run during the Cavaliers' six-run rally in the ninth inning that produced a 9-8 win.
