The top-ranked men's tennis team won its 60th, 61st, and 62nd consecutive home matches this weekend with commanding victories over Old Dominion and Georgetown on Friday, followed by a 9-4 victory over fourth-ranked Texas. UVa improved to 17-1, 2-0 ACC. I know this doesn't come as a shock to any of my readers, but I really do think that this team has a chance to put together a team national title this year in Georgia.
The Wahoos have now defeated opponents ranked 3rd (Ohio State), 4th (Texas), 5th (Tennessee) and 7th (Georgia). The only loss for the Hoos this season has been at the hands of No. 14 Kentucky, in a narrow 3-4 defeat. That was the last time Virginia gave up 4 points in any match, until this past weekend's contest against Texas, the highest ranked opponent to ever play at Snyder during the Brian Boland era.
Since Kentucky, Virginia has gone 89-7 against their opponents. The Cavs look to take it to the road in an ACC matchup against Maryland this Friday at 2:30 p.m.
