Live from the Big City Classic

Hello from the New Meadowlands Stadium! The weather is absolutely perfect here in East Rutherfood, NJ (who thought "perfect" and "NJ" would be in the same sentence?), and the Virginia crowds came out today by the droves. Although, to be fair, I keep getting tricked by Syracuse folks, who basically consider this their backyards.

I'll be posting throughout the day, but wanted to just hop on to say, Game On!  Faceoff is still scheduled for 4:00 today, and I'll have pictures throughout the day.

The Carolina team is out on the field warming up. Virginia should be out there in a little bit, but with how errant some of these Carolina shots are looking, Virginia may not need to warm up all that much.

I took a walk around the stadium and there are lots of Virginia fans everywhere. Here are just a couple pictures.

Alright, the Hoos just came out.

That's the end of the first quarter, and it's 3-0 Virginia. Hoos are looking sharp out there, though to be completely honest, I've been too focused on getting a nice picture to really analyze the game. It's been a pretty fast game with not too many EMOs (Virginia had one and was not able to capitalize).

Billy Bitter for Carolina has 3 shots, one on goal, and Jimmy Dunster has 4 shots.  Bitter is running their show right now, which I suppose is to be expected, as Bitter and Bocklet currently share ACC's Player of the Week honors.

Halftime update, it's 5-3 Virginia over Carolina. Carolina had a heck of a second period with back-to-back goals coming from Billy Bitter, who went down in pain after his second goal. I was too busy uploading pictures (clearly I'm terrible at this live-action bit) to have seen exactly what happened. Speaking of pictures, here are some:

Final Score is 7-5 VIRGINIA, and we remain UNDEFEATED at 11-0, the last undefeated team of the country!
