Virginia Rowing Seeks First-Ever National Title

Not that this comes as any surprise to anyone with even a fleeting interest in Virginia Rowing, but the third-ranked team in the nation earned a bid to the NCAA Championships at Sacramento State Aquatic Center in Gold River, CA, hosted by Washington State University. This is the 13th bid in 14 seasons for the 'Hoos, who are still searching for their first ever national title.

Virginia has placed in the top four for eight of the past thirteen years, but has never won a team national title. Virginia Rowing has six individual crew national titles to its name. Virginia's Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight, and Varsity Four crews hope to add to that this month.

Virginia has won 10 ACC Championships in the past 11 years, and has the distinct honor of being the squad that picked up Virginia Athletics' 100th ACC title overall.

The Championship takes place May 28-30.  Yale, Brown, and Princeton are Virginia's three biggest threats this year.
