Marc Verica, Danny Aiken earn postseason honors

Virginia quarterback Marc Verica has been invited to the inaugural Eastham Energy College Football All-Star Game in Tempe, Arizona on January 23, while long snapper Danny Aiken has been selected to play for the South int he 2011 Under Armour Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama on January 15.

Verica, who started all 12 games at quarterback this season, threw for 2,799 passing yards this year, fourth in the ACC and the third-highest production in a season at UVa, behind only Matt Schaub's 2,976 yards in 2002 and 2,952 yards in 2003. The captain finished sixth all-time at Virginia with 4,992 passing yards.

Aiken appeared in all 12 games this season and is a four-year starter as long snapper. He made four tackles on the year -- one each at USC, Florida State, Miami and Virginia Tech. This is the third consecutive year the Cavaliers have been represented in this game, with Chris Cook and Rashawn Jackson in 2010, and Cedric Peerman, John Phillips and Clint Sintim in 2009. All five who participated in 2009 and 2010 are currently in the NFL.
