Virginia fans are HYPED, but they're hyped about next week's matchup against Virginia Tech because of the possible implications. Unfortunately, that game won't mean a thing (other than as an annual rivalry) if the Hoos don't get a win out of Tallahassee, for the first time ever.

Both schools have a 7-3 record. The stats on the field are also similar. Florida State has the ACC's top total defense (279.5 ypg), while Virginia's sitting in third (332.2 ypg). Meanwhile, Virginia is fourth in the ACC in total offense (420.5 ypg), While FSU is 402.8. Still, I consider the Noles to be a bit of an "SEC-lite" type of team, where they're bigger, stronger, and faster than the Hoos. No doubt that Virginia will need to be at their absolute best in order to compete -- something we've seen this team do several times this season, against Georgia Tech and Miami.

Also, you guys know that this is a trophy game, right? The Jefferson-Eppes Trophy has made itself pretty comfortable in Tallahassee, having vacationed in Charlottesville only twice in its 16 years of existence. Francis W. Eppes VII was a grandson of Thomas Jefferson, a three-time mayor of Tallahassee and president of the Board of Trustees of now-FSU.

This should be a fun game to watch, I think. We're really going to see just how "confident" and "mature" Rocco has become since taking control of the offense. I think he's going to take to the air a lot more than we, as fans, are comfortable with, but it's something we're definitely going to need if we want to get our first win ever down in Tally.

Leave your pre, in and post-game thoughts here, and GO HOOS!
