Our entire staff wishes you and yours all the best this holiday season and going into 2012. We appreciate that you take the time to swing by these parts to get your daily Wahoo dose. We know that there are a lot of sources for Virginia Athletics insight, and we love that you choose Streaking the Lawn as at least one of your regular reads.
Our staff finds great joy in crunching the numbers, looking at matchups, and scouring for information. We enjoy rushing home to our computers after a game to put up the post-game wrap, before we start the celebrations. We love writing for you all and being able to interact with fellow fans, either on this site or over on Twitter.
The truth is, none of us does this for the money, and we don't profit a penny from this. We all have our full time, real-life occupations that don't involve game threads. But we choose stay up until 4:00 a.m. to provide you with comprehensive, professional, accurate coverage of Virginia Athletics across all sports, and we do so because we are passionate. That's why at the end of each year, we take any money we earn through advertisements and sponsorships, and we either invest it back into you, the reader, by way of contests, tailgates, etc., or we are able to donate our excess funds to a charity that would be of interest to the Wahoo and Charlottesville communities.
We're first and foremost fans. This might not jive with preconceived notions of traditional media, but that doesn't mean we can't still provide valuable analysis and disseminate useful information to the Virginia fan base, all while maintaining our professionalism -- and at the end of the day, isn't that why we rely on sports media?
So thank you. Thank you for visiting our humble site. Thank you for being a part of the exponential growth this site has experienced over the past year. Thank you for allowing us to donate to The Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Virginia this year.
Most of all, thank you for fueling our passions.
As always, GO HOOS!
