Virginia to face Auburn in Chick-fil-A Bowl

With the Sugar Bowl throwing out a curve ball by selecting Virginia Tech for an at-large BCS bid, the Chick-fil-A Bowl has chosen the Virginia Cavaliers to play in the New Year's Eve contest. The Hoos will be facing the current national champions Auburn out of the SEC.

The Cavaliers have a 8-4 regular season record (5-3 ACC) while the Tigers have a 7-5 regular season record (4-4 SEC).

This is the fourth time the Cavaliers have played in the Chick-fil-A Bowl (formerly Peach Bowl). The last time was back in 1998, falling to Georgia 35-33. During the other previous appearances, Virginia defeated Georgia 34-27 in 1995 and defeated Purdue 27-24 in 1984. This is the fifth time the Tigers have made an appearance.

Virginia has a 1-1 record against Auburn, losing to them at home 28-17 in 1997, but shutting them out on the road 19-0 in 1998 on a Thursday night game.

The game will be on December 31, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN.

Hoos gonna be there? This guy most certainly will!
