Mike London and the entire Virginia fan base got some great news this morning to really get National Signing Day going, as the Hoos have landed one of the country's top athletes in Darius Jennings. Jennings made this decision this morning at 9:30 a.m., selecting the Cavaliers over Ohio State and Wake Forest.

6'0" / 180 lbs / 4.4 Video: [ESPN] [Rivals] [Rivals 2] [Rivals 3] Rankings: Other Offers: Ohio State, Wake Forest, Boston College, Connecticut, East Carolina, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Oregon, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, South Carolina, Stanford, UCLA, Virginia Tech, West Virginia Notes: Jennings is getting recruited most likely as a wide receiver for Virginia, though by all accounts, he has the versatility and athleticism to play at pretty much any skill position. He's got good speed, but more importantly, he's elusive, moves smoothly, and has impressive jump-cut and burst ability. He was named the 2010 Maryland Gatorade Player of the Year and was a consensus all-state selection. In 2009, he rushed for over 2,000 yards and threw for 733 yards - a total of 35 touchdowns. He's quick off the line and demonstrates great body control. At QB, he's more of a running QB than a passing QB, though he could certainly qualify as a dual threat. |
