Highlights Video of Former Cavalier Jerome Meyinsse

"I'm a professional basketball player. Damn that sounds good."

So says former Cavalier Jerome Meyinsse, as his twitter profile. The former UVA captain has spent the past year playing for Club 9 (Nueve de Julio) in Argentina, and making a name for himself.

Meyinsse, who has been with the team since October, has played in 40 games so far and continues to be a go-to resource for the club, averaging 29.8 minutes per game. He is averaging 16.8 points per game, while shooting 56.2% from the field.  He is also averaging 6.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks a game.

During his senior season at Virginia, he shot 58% from the field and led his senior team in blocks, with 23 on the season. Meyinsse was also named the recipient of the 2010 Skip Prosser Award, given to the top scholar-athlete in men's basketball in the conference. He was named to to the academic All-ACC team three consecutive years.

Meyinsse was a freshman when the Cavaliers last made the NCAA Tournament, as a No. 4 seed. There's no doubt that this Hoo, who still follows the team closely, can't wait for Bennett and Co. to lead the Cavaliers back to glory.

Here are video highlights of Meyinsse's first season so far as a professional basketball player.
