May 6th Rotunda Roundup

Most of the buzz today is centered around yesterday's ACC approval of Mike Scott's medical redshirt and on Gary Williams's retirement (you may remember his last home game?).  Of most interest to UVA fans-who will coach the Terps next?  But that's not all that's going on in the UVA sports world...

Heather Dinich wraps up spring practices for UVA football and also provides a good look around the ACC.  Also, a Boston-centered sports site gives their take on the Patriots' picking Ras-I Dowling 33rd overall, with some quotes from UVA defensive coordinator Jim Reid.

While Shamel Bratton was booted from the lacrosse team, brother Rhamel's depature was called an "indefinite suspension."  Whitey Reid talks to coach Dom Starsia about Rhamel's possible return as well as the upcoming NCAA tournament.

The only UVA athletics team actually in action this weekend is women's golf, competing in the West Regional of the NCAA tournament.  The Hoos are in second after the first day, with two rounds to play.  Get your UVA sports fix by following the tournament on the NCAA website (and read about round 1 on virginiasports.com if you haven't already)

Happy Friday everyone!
