Lots of great stories out there about the 2011 NCAA Lacrosse Champion Virginia Cavaliers. ESPN focuses on Dom Starsia and the changes he made to get the Hoos back on top. Check out this great video that shows the focus in the locker room before the game...and the jubilation afterwards. CollegeCrosse examines reasons for the low attendance in Baltimore. (My thoughts? Weak showing by hometown fans and non-central location for most lax fans in the Northeast) .
Virginia also begins its next title pursuit this week, as the baseball team earned the #1 overall seed in the NCAAs. SBNation answers some big questions on the tournament as a whole. The Hoos should be familiar with the #2 and #3 seeds in the Charlottesville regional: the Hoos took 2 of 3 from ECU earlier this season, and defeated St. Johns last year to win the regional.
In rowing, the women's team took 6th at the NCAAs, a solid result for the rebuilding team. And the men's (club) Varsity 8 team won the national championship - you can find a good summary in this post by "ReistertownHoo" over at TheSabre.
