UVA Baseball is headed to the College World Series

With two outs and no one on base, Virginia Baseball did what exactly what they've been doing all season: they played Cavalier ball. A quick blink and several threatened heart attacks later, the bases were juiced and sophomore short stop Chris Taylor was at bat. Taylor singled up the middle to earn his only two RBIs of the game as the nationally 1-seeded Hoos walked off with a 3-2 victory over the Anteaters of UC-Irvine.

Virginia becomes the second ACC team to punch their ticket to the College World Series, while Florida State is currently facing an elimination game with Texas A&M.

This is the second time in three years that the Hoos are headed to Omaha. Head coach Brian O'Connor had the great pleasure of getting doused in Gatorade, and the players did a victory lap to thank the sell-out crowd of 5,050 that's supported them all weekend long.

Virginia will face Cal next Sunday at 2:00 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN.

Congratulations, Hoos!
