June 20th Rotunda Roundup

UVA jumped out to a great start in Omaha, defeating Cal 4-1 behind 6.1 strong innings from #2 overall pick Danny Hultzen.  ESPN's College Baseball Blog shows an interview with post-game reaction from Hultzen.  Here is a wrapup straight from the Omaha World-Herald - there is also a pretty useful College World Series blog on the site.

The Hoos will take on South Carolina at 7 PM tomorrow, as the Gamecocks pulled off a 5-4 win last night.  Garnet and Black Attack, a USC SB Nation blog, analyzes the teams based on talent (using MLB draft results), an interesting way at thinking about the College World Series teams.  More about USC here on Streaking the Lawn coming soon.

Back in Charlottesville, UVA hosted the NBA Top 100, an event at John Paul Jones Arena showcasing top high school talent.  While the event is sponsored by the NBA, it offers a great opportunity for the University to show off its magnificent facilities.  Whitey 365 got a chance to interview 2012 recruits Justin Anderson and Evan Nolte (click for videos), who both attended the event.  Anderson finished by winning the "leadership award."
