The ACC basketball schedule's not the only thing that's coming out today. ESPN just released an update to its Class of 2012 recruiting rankings, which pegs the Cavaliers as sitting on the No. 7 recruiting class of the country.
With three commits and three ESPNU 100 players, Tony Bennett is looking at one of the greatest recruiting classes in school history. Virginia is the highest-ranked ACC squad to make the list, with North Carolina falling to No. 9 (previously No. 4) with two commits and Duke at No. 15 with just one commit so far. Obviously, it's early on in the recruiting trail and there's a lot that's going to happen between now and signing day, but the Hoos are looking strong on the recruiting front.
Bennett and company have received commitments from small forward Justin Anderson, small forward Evan Nolte and center Mike Tobey. All three of these guys are four-star recruits according to ESPN, while Rivals ranks them a 5-, 4- and 3-star, respectively.
Virginia has been in the top ten in each of ESPN's four 2012 rankings releases, debuting at No. 5 in May and June, and ranked No. 6 in July.
