Scoreless Draw for Hoos and Devils

Four days after a golden goal, double overtime thriller of a victory over #5 North Carolina, the Virginia women's soccer team found themselves in a familiar position.

Facing another top-five squad - this time the Blue Devils - in another Tobacco Road venue - this time Durham - the Cavaliers again took their higher-ranked hosts all the way to the brink. The difference this time is that instead of ending with a golden goal, the game ended with a whistle after two full overtime periods.

The Cavaliers and Blue Devils each had 20 shots on the game, marking only the second time this season that Virginia did not outshoot its opponent, The Cavaliers did have a healthy 12-4 advantage in corner kicks, but were unable to get anything into the net.

The tie moves Virginia to 8-2-2 on the season and 2-1-1 in the ACC. This was the third game of the Cavaliers' four game road trip. They head to Winston-Salem on Sunday to take on sixth-ranked Wake Forest. Kickoff is at 1pm. Following that match, Virginia has four of its last five games at home. They begin that stretch by facing Florida State on October 8th at 7pm.
