Virginia basketball tips off in just 11 days on November 9 when the men travel to Fairfax, VA to take on George Mason while the women play host to James Madison in Charlottesville. Streaking The Lawn is getting the season started right by organizing the first ever online midnight madness, where from midnight to midnight today, we'll be providing you with tons of great coverage, from player profiles, to previews, to some notes from former players, and much, much more.
This tip-off post will serve as your all-day-long open thread to keep the conversation going about the Hoos! We'll periodically update this individual post throughout the day so you know exactly what's been posted, but you can also visit the Midnight Madness Hub to find all the content that we're posting today.
PRIZES!
What kind of midnight madness would this be if we didn't offer you some very cool prizes?? We've got TWO that we'll give away at the end of all this:
PRIZE OPTION ONE: A pair of lower level tickets to the ACC contest between the Virginia Cavaliers and Boston College Eagles on January 26 in Charlottesville.
PRIZE OPTION TWO: A personalized, autographed picture of Virginia men's basketball Head Coach Tony Bennett (autographed by Coach Bennett, to clarify -- not the STL staff here).
How do you win one of these totally sweet prizes? Two ways!
- We've placed trivia questions throughout the articles that are going up today, and we'll add more in the comments (either here or comments to the articles themselves) all day. When you find a trivia question, there will be a link to the response page. There will also be a "question code" there, so just follow the link and enter your email address, the question code (which helps us identify which question you're answering) and the trivia answer! You get one point for each correct answer, and there are no penalties for wrong guesses. We're just taking the first answer you give for each question though, so think before you submit! In the event of a tie, a winner will be randomly chosen among those who are tied. The trivia winner will be able to pick which prize they want!
- Comment, comment comment! We'll pick one lucky commenter from any of today's posts, and that person will win whichever prize was not selected by the trivia contest winner! Piece of cake -- just keep the conversation going!
Trivia Question! Let's start off with an easy one. Name the two UVA alumni currently in the NBA. Question Code: NBA. Put your answers here!
