2012 Virginia Basketball Player Profiles
Sophomore swingman Paul Jesperson struggled in limited action last year, after being forced into action rather than redshirt. Hopefully, that playing time will help him going forward. His length and shooting will help this team be successful.
Malcolm Brogdon had a strong freshman season for the Hoos, and showed a lot of promise. He's hurt now, and his status for this season is unknown. What do Wahoo fans have to look forward for this season and beyond for the youngster?
Junior PF Akil Mitchell is likely to be the starting center for the Hoos to open the season. He's a high flyer, who uses elite athleticism and quick hops to work on the boards and to finish at the rim. While he isn't a true 5, he is capable.
Junior swingman Joe Harris figures to be one of the leaders for the Hoos this season. As the leading returning scorer, he'll be counted on for points, but with the injuries to Jontel Evans and Malcolm Brogdon, Joe will be playing some PG early on.
Walk-on Thomas Rogers is a 6'6" shooting guard who can flat out shoot the rock. He isn't likely to get much playing time this season, due to the depth we have on the wing. But if he is forced into the action, the Hoos will be ok.
