ACC Tournament 2012: Opening Round Open Thread

Happy ACC Tournament Time!

Accbracket_medium

And congratulations to everyone who made the tournament. Especially you, Boston College. For a while there, I thought it was touch-and-go whether the league would let you guys in, but I'm glad you're here. (It's a lot more fun to comment on the tournament when Virginia is actually performing well, dearth of personnel notwithstanding.)

Here are your games for today, for those of you who can't figure out the images above. All games will be on ESPNU, or you can stream the ACC Tournament online at theACC.com or ESPN3 (subject to local blackouts).

No. 8 Maryland vs. No. 9 Wake Forest -- Noon
No. 5 N.C. State vs. No. 12 Boston College -- 2 p.m.
No. 7 Clemson vs. No. 10 Virginia Tech -- 7 p.m.
No. 6 Miami vs. No. 11 Georgia Tech -- 9 p.m

I'm tempted to go chalk on Day 1 here. N.C. State and Miami should both cruise to the quarterfinals. I think Virginia Tech might give Clemson a bit of a fit, but the Tigers should come out victorious. I like Wake Forest, though, over Maryland, even though Maryland played a pretty competitive game against us this past weekend (due to what appears to be a typical late-game Virginia collapse).

I'll be around throughout the day making comments in this thread. Who do you guys have coming out of today?
