ACC Performer of the Week
ACC Performer of the Week

Every week, the ACC recognizes the top student-athletes of each sport for their performance the previous week. Just about every week, at least one or two -- and sometimes more -- Virginia Cavaliers earn these honors. In keeping true to our dedication of shining the spotlight on both revenue and Olympic sports, Streaking the Lawn will endeavor to update you weekly. The following are Virginia's ACC Performers of the Week for the week beginning April 9, and the description is provided by the conference's media release.

Steele Stanwick, Men's Lacrosse

Virginia senior attackman Steele Stanwick has been named the ACC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the conference office on Tuesday. It is the second straight award for Stanwick.

Stanwick is the first player in ACC Men's Lacrosse history to be named a Player of the Week three times in the same season since the award's inception in 1986.

Stanwick led Virginia with three goals and four assists in a 15-10 road conference victory over No. 9 North Carolina. The Baltimore, Md., native had two goals and two assists during a 6-0 Cavalier run to break a 4-4 tie. It marked the fourth time this season he has reached seven points in a game, and is now averaging 4.91 points, the third highest rate in the nation.
