The ACC will be represented by 33 students and alumni on Team USA in London competing in the 2012 Olympic Games. North Carolina leads the pack with seven (three in field hockey, two in track & field and two in soccer), while Virginia will be sending six on Team USA.
Virginia Tech is one of just two ACC schools without anyone on Team USA (Boston College is the other).
As a conference, it's clear where our forte is. With only 27 women on the U.S. Field Hockey National Team, the ACC makes up ten of those spots. UNC and Wake Forest will each have three, while UVA and Maryland are contributing two each.
