Football season has come and gone (What? It's not over? You're telling me they're not done losing? Screw that nonsense) and and it went just as we all thought it would. There were lots of lows, like 2 or maybe 3 highs, and many times we walked away feeling like we could punch a baby.

Many of those media types have pegged the Cavalier basketball team to be pretty special this year. Promoting hope and building dreams when it comes to UVa (revenue) sports is not something that I like to endorse. It only sets you up for failure when Joe Harris tears his Orbicularis oris, Anthony Gill transfers to Washington and Lee, and Justin Anderson is deemed ineligible for getting too many free Chicken Wings from St. Maarten. SO DON'T BELIEVE (that much) PEOPLE!

The early part of the schedule is fairly ugly except for the matchups with Wisconsin and VCU.

When the ACC schedule comes around I imagine we'll all be a ball of nerves. The team will be flying high with a Top 15 ranking and expectations of an ACC Regular Season Championship dance in our heads. This is when we will be at our most vulnerable. Fortunately, Coach Bennett knows how to use a timeout, but I still recommend you watch every game like this:

They'll wrap up the three seed for the ACC tournament and just barely miss out on the regular season title thanks to a head scratching loss to BC on the road. Fortunately, unlike previous years, this team will be (semi-)healthy and hungry for more. Luckily, we're UVa fans, and we can't have that nice of things. They'll make Saturday and lose to Syracuse on a buzzer beater three.

They'll make the NCAA tournament and be a 4 seed against a pesky 13 seed from a BCS conference which will give us all nightmares. They'll win the first round, and come down to the wire in the second round. I can't tell you how the rest plays out (the witches won't let me).....

In conclusion, I'd like to employ our good friend Bob Ross to give my overall message to this 2013-14 UVa Basketball season:
