The Virginia Cavaliers take on the eighth-ranked Clemson Tigers at Scott Stadium this afternoon. The Tigers are coming off a 40-27 victory over Maryland, just one week after they were shellacked by the conference-leading Seminoles of Florida State. Virginia is still mathematically eligible for a bowl game, though many fans have all but given up on the season.
A upset win today would be monumental. Vegas odds opened at Clemson -20, but it's since shifted to Clemson -18, as low as Clemson -17.
The two teams haven't met since 2009, when Clemson scored 10 unanswered points to secure the 34-21 win at home. This is only the third contest between the schools since the 2005 ACC expansion.
