The Virginia football program continued its hot recruiting streak this weekend when Darrious Carter, a defensive end from Pennsylvania, committed to the Cavaliers. Carter is the fifteenth player to commit to Virginia for the 2014 recruiting cycle, and the second in the past week. Fork Union offensive lineman Jacob Fieler committed to Virginia on Wednesday.

Carter is ranted as a three-star recruit by 247Sports and a two-star recruit by Rivals. He was previously committed to Temple before visiting Virginia earlier this month. Carter joins Gatorade National Player of the Year Andrew Brown and Lynchburg native Michael Biesemier as part of Virginia's defensive line haul for 2014. Both Carter and Biesemier seem likely prospects to redshirt in 2014.

Virginia has added three commitments since the end of a disastrous 2-10 season, suggesting the program still has some juice on the recruiting trail. The additions, combined with the hopeful return of defensive tackle Chris Brathwaite, mean that a handful of players will need to be removed from the roster before the 2014 season.
