Last year, the reserve corps of the Virginia Basketball team got a lot more attention than years previous. Maybe that was because they saw significantly more playing time as the Hoos demolished teams week in and week out, or maybe it was just because the guys are so gosh-darn likable. Either way, Caid Kirven has tons of fan support in Charlottesville.
After seeing action in only six games in the 2012-2013 season, Caid got into 13 games last season and averaged 2.1 minutes per game. He scored four points on 50% shooting, and nabbed two rebounds. This season, Caid will be called upon again to prep the likes of Mike Tobey, Anthony Gill, and Darion Atkins, both on the offensive and defensive ends of the court.
Originally from Raleigh, don't be surprised to see some fans come out for Caid as the Hoos return to Carolina, NC State, Wake Forest, and even Greensboro (ACC Tourney) this season. There are A LOT of North Carolina trips.
