Virginia Cavaliers Basketball Player Profile: Jeff Jones

Second year returns after a successful first walk on season.

The name Jeff Jones is common name inside the Virginia Basketball world. Jeff Jones, Sr. both played for the Cavaliers (1979-1982) and coached (1990-1998) for the Wahoos. Junior walked on to the team before the 2013-2014 season.

Jeff played in 10 games last season, including the season opener against JMU. He averaged 2.1 minutes per game, scored three points, and grabbed five rebounds (all on the defensive end). His lone field goal came against Virginia Tech on January 25. 'Atta boy, Jeff.

This season, Jeff will continue his contributions on the practice court, helping prepare the team on both offense and defense. Hopefully, we will see Jones and the rest of the 'Green Machine' in more games this year.
