2015 Men's Lacrosse Schedule Released

Coach Starsia released this season's schedule...and it's a doozy.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Today, the University of Virginia released the Men's Lacrosse schedule for the 2014-2015 season, and it features some heavy hitters. The Hoos were picked No.10 in the Inside Lacrosse 2015 Face-Off Yearbook Top 20, and they play seven of the other nine residents in the top ten. Please note all rankings used will be from this same list.

Virginia will open on the road at No.7 Loyola in what can assume will be a frigid affair in Baltimore on February 7th. Considering the tight, hotly contested Virginia overtime victory last year to open the season, the Greyhounds will most certainly be out for revenge.

No.16 Drexel and Rutgers will provide solid challenges before Virginia heads to the Carrier Dome on March 1st, playing the No.4 Orange just one day before Tony Bennett's squad does the same for Big Monday.

Nothing slows down as the Hoos host No.8 Cornell, sneaky St. Joe's, and No.2 Notre Dame (still weird that's ACC). They will get No.5 Hopkins on the road in the "Don't You Wish We Got the Last Two Stanwicks" game, and head to VMI for one of their two mid-week games (the other is St. Joe's).

Richmond comes to town for the first time as a DI competitor, and don't look past the scrappy Spiders. They have a young and talented team that exceeded expectations last year and are trying to make a name for their squad. ACC rivals No.6 North Carolina and No.3 Duke pose a huge test before the Hoos close at home against Georgetown.

The schedule boasts seven home games, one of which (Drexel) will take place immediately after the Wake Forest basketball game on Valentine's Day. The ACC tournament will be in Chester, PA at PPL Park the 24th through 26th of April. Post season kicks off May 9th. The best news, however? No Maryland!
