Virginia did not play Maryland this year, and last faced Maryland in the ACC Tournament in 1998, when Virginia won 9-4 in 10 innings. UVA holds a 109-78-1 all-time record against those pesky Terps, which marks UVA's most wins against any ACC opponent.
Under Brian O'Connor and company, Virginia has a 27-3 record, though two of those losses have come in the last four meetings.
This is the first game in ACC pool play. Virginia will face No. 7 North Carolina tomorrow at 7:00 p.m., and then No. 2 Florida State on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
