Just one day after the Hoos named a pure pocket passer their starting QB for 2014, they received a verbal commitment from another pocket passer with a strong resume. Nick Johns, out of Gonzaga College High School in Washington, DC.
Johns has prototypical size for a pocket passer, at 6'4" 215 pounds. He's also more athletic that you'd expect for a guy his size. He moves well both in and out of the pocket. He's never going to be a dual-threat QB, but he can get out of the pocket and throws well on the move. In fact, it seems like nearly every play in his junior year highlight film has him throwing out of moving pocket.
Here's the aforementioned highlight reel:

ohns has a strong arm. It's not necessarily an elite arm, at least not yet, but he can make all the throws. His mechanics are inconsistent, which is common in younger QBs. He also has a somewhat long release. Those are things he will have to work on during his senior year and into his college career.
Johns is the 3rd commitment for the Hoos in the 2015 recruiting class. He's also the most highly rated up to this point.
Here is the QB depth chart for 2015 and beyond:
Senior: David Watford
Junior: Greyson Lambert, Matt Johns (no relation to Nick)
Sophomore: Brendan Marshall
Redshirt Freshman (presumably): Corwin Cutler
