The summer may be winding down, but Mike London remains red hot the recruiting trail. Two days after picking up a pair of commits, the Virginia head coach reeled in a third on Tuesday afternoon, when Philadelphia (Pa.) defensive end/linebacker Gladimir Paul jumped on board.
Paul selected the Wahoos over offers from Connecticut, Temple, and UMass among others.
The 6-3, 210 pound defender made the trek down to Charlottesville nearly two weeks ago, and visited UVa along with fellow 2015 recruits Kareem McDonald and Javhoni Simmons. While closing out the later two was the focus of the weekend, Paul left Charlottesville with an offer. McDonald and Simmons committed to the Wahoos just two days later, and on Tuesday, Paul followed suit.
Paul plays weakside defensive end for Northeast, but at 210 pounds, the rising senior is being recruited as a DE/OLB hybrid. The Pa native appears to be an ideal fit for Jon Tenuta's defense, and can grow into the role that current Cavalier Max Valles currently occupies. The Wahoos have added some serious speed on the edge in this class, in Paul, McDonald, and four-star defensive end Rasool Clemmons.
