Well, this past weekend was not exactly the dominant opening to the ACC schedule that Virginia fans were hoping for, with a shaky defense that gave up a whopping 80 points in a game that included two overtime periods. Virginia takes another crack at it this week against a decent Wolfpack team at home.
Keep an eye on BeeJay Anya. He's not a starter, but the forward is 6'9" and a whopping 295 pounds. Redshirt junior Trevor Lacey is their top scorer with 17.2 points per game, while Cat Barber and Ralston Turner are each averaging double-digits as well.
State's near the top of the conference with a 2-0 ACC record, and although they're against Wake Forest and Pitt, both games have been double-digit winners for the Pack. They're a really big team (See, Anya), and they use this to their advantage as they're ranked No. 9 in the country on blocked shots per game (6.20). Anya himself accounts for 3.20 of these.
Tiki did a preview earlier this week.
Remember, if Virginia holds them to under 50 tonight, those of us who made the pledge will be donating to the One Love Foundation! Read more about the Pack Line Pledge here.
In the meantime, leave your pre-, in- and post-game thoughts here, and GO HOOS!
