The ACC's Top Teams Looked Like Top Teams in Week 6

How did UVa's conference mates fare in Week 6? Clemson and Duke looked great, Miami put up a fight at FSU, and NC State still can't beat any decent team.

While the Hoos now sit at 0-1 in the conference and look less and less like a bowl team, the rest of the ACC includes a couple of undefeated conference records in each division and a number of teams battling for bowl slotting. Clemson and FSU both continued their perfect seasons in week 6, while Duke and Pitt both moved to 2-0 in the Coastal. Wake Forest picked up their first conference win while Boston College and Syracuse (and even NC State) join the Hoos in the conference cellar.

NCSU 13 - VT 28

Virginia Tech scored touchdowns while the Wolfpack settled for field goals in a statistically closer game than the final score suggests. Brendan Motley was pummeled behind a weak Hokie offensive line, but threw three 2nd quarter scores to Isaiah Ford. The Wolfpack continue to validate their doubters, failing to build off their collection of cupcake wins early in the season.

GT 24 - Clemson 43

The Rambling Wreck's defense looked abysmal again this week as Clemson completely dominated their matchup Saturday. Deshaun Watson threw for a couple TDs and Wayne Gallman ran for a couple as the Tigers remain perfect on the season. Georgia Tech, on the other hand, fell to 0-3 in the conference and look like the most disappointing team in the conference.

Miami 24 - FSU 29

FSU retook the lead with 6:44 remaining in the fourth quarter to win their back and forth battle against the Canes in Tallahassee. Dalvin Cook ran for over 200 yards and 3 scores as the Noles kept their perfect record alive. Miami fell to 0-1 in the conference but have yet to play a division game.

Duke 44 - Army 3

The Blue Devils were not very nice to their hosts over the weekend, blowing out Army while forcing 3 turnovers. Duke racked up 458 total yards while responding to their previous week's poor offensive performance against BC. The Blue Devils are still 2-0 in the ACC and move to 5-1 on the year.

Wake 3 - BC 0

Good lord. Didn't this just happen last week? Yet again, Boston College lost a close game where neither team looked like they wanted to play football that day. Wake Forest accumulated 142 TOTAL YARDS and WON. Both teams currently have 2 more wins than the Virginia Cavaliers.

Syracuse 24 - USF 45

The Orange had a tough trip down to Florida, as the Bulls scored 35 second half points in their home victory. Syracuse turned the ball over three times in the loss and the defense gave up 541 total yards. The Orange remain 0-1 in the ACC and fall to 3-2 in their overall record.
